An outstanding 19th century Spa maple wood double tea caddy with painted panels. The lid with a painted scene signed "H Bronfort" in the style of a tapestry called "Fete Flamande" by David Teniers a 17th century Dutch painter; the inner lids with animal subjects are signed "Piriard" and are in the style of Edwin Landseer, a famous English artist of the 18th & 19th century, who specialised in the painting of animals, the inner lid with the original green silk cushioned lining.
