An exceptional 19th century brass edged and inlaid rosewood gentlemans dressing case, the top, with a recessed brass handle, opens to reveal an original green velvet lined interior with various compartments containing a selection of twelve silver topped bottles and containers, including a travelling shaving brush, together with three cut throat razors and a leather covered strop which has a makers stamp, Thomas Woolfield, Church Street, Liverpool. The lift out tray can then be removed to reveal a further tray of exquisite tools, including a pair of mother of pearl handled cut steel boot pulls, various mother of pearl handled tools, a seal, pencil, sewing needle, scissors and a silver inlaid tortoiseshell dip pen. This is one of the nicest gentlemans dressing cases that I have seen for a long time and it would make a marvellous addition to any collection.
