Circa 1755-1765 H: 24 in / 61 cm W: 17½ in / 44½ cm D: 8¾ in / 22 cm Stock Number: 19183/0808 SOLD
An unusual mid 18th Century mahogany box base mirror of serpentine shape with three oak lined drawers surmounted by a crossgrained veneered mirror with carved gilt gesso slip in the manner of Giles Grendey, the whole raised on ogee feet. The London cabinetmaker Giles Grendey is particularly associated with this form of carved panel surround generally found on press and cabinet doors.
