A very fine pair of Sheraton style Commodes veneered in West Indian Satinwood and cross-banded in Tulipwood, with Rosewood panels to the uprights. Reserved
Circa 1870 H: 33¾ in / 85½ cm W: 36 in / 91½ cm D: 17¾ in / 45 cm Stock Number: 5620/1611 SOLD
Original condition throughout including locks, the hinges stamped Horne Patent. They date from the earlier revival of Sheraton Satinwood Furniture pioneered by Wright and Mansfield at the 1862 exhibition, and are possibly made by that firm. They were probably commissioned to stand opposite one another as both are right handed.
