My wife, Janice and I started our antiques business in 1990 after many years of collecting, and moved to our current premises in Petworth in 1994.
Since moving to Petworth we have opened our third, fourth and fifth showrooms enabling us to offer a large range of fine period furniture and works of art together with an extensive collection of Staffordshire figures.
We have been expanding our business over the years, and in September 2000 opened our sixth showroom taking over the ground floor of Swan House. Because of the increase in size we are able to offer unique themed rooms for the gentlemen and for the ladies, in which there are many original, unique and exciting pieces of furniture, paintings, silverware, marine and nautical pieces, rare bronzes and fine English and continental porcelain.
We have proven ourselves to be one of the most innovative and progressive showrooms in the country, as on 25th June 2002 at the prestigious British Antique and Collectables Awards were held at the Dorchester Hotel, London and Richard Gardner Antiques was recognised as the best antique premises in Britain winning the category 'Best Showroom outside London,' having been runners up in 2001. The BACA awards have been set up to honour and congratulate the art and antique industries finest. Judge by their peers on both the quality of stock and service these awards are a keenly fought contest.
We have launched our new database website, it is now online and will allow us to offer you an even better service. We are currently still adding all new items and we hope to have 100% of our stock added soon. We belong to both the Petworth Art and Antique Dealers Association and the London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association, and can therefore offer our clients total security in their purchases.
