A lovely framed pair of vintage prints of two very famous artworks. Rembrandt’s Asian elephant, circa 1637. The subject is likely to be the famous elephant Hansken, who toured European circuses in the 17th century. Together with Michelangelo’s reclining male nude study. The reclining figure of Adam reaching out to God the Father, whose touch grants him life. This study of Adam was in preparation for the fresco of ‘The Creation of Man’ on the vault of the Sistine Chapel.
