GENTLEMANS DRESSING CASE BY MECHI AND BAZIN
An early 19th Century brass bound mahogany gentleman’s dressing case by Mechi & Bazin, London. Opening the top reveals a red velvet lined interior with compartment for stationary and a removable mirror, the case with five various shaped silver plated bottles, one containing an ivory handled brush, a replaced shaving brush holder and brush (the original silver plated example was stolen and I have replaced this with a silver example, so not original, but better), together with a leather cased razor strop, under the large central bottle is a hidden button which when pressed releases the lower drawer, which contains cut throat razors, boot pulls, corkscrew, tweezers, scissors, nail file and pen knives, each fitted into their own individual recess.
