An antique Italian silver gilt and enamel card case with a fine oval watercolour to the top. The beautifully engraved silver case with exceptional silver work on the bottom, with the top and sides mottled with enamel made to look like turquoise with silver flowers and foliage between. A central cartouche of silver encloses a fine watercolour on ivory of a couple in an arcadian scene with ruins and sheep. Stamped ‘Silver’ with silver content mark 800, ‘MADE IN ITALY’ and a further stamp, likely makers mark.
