A late 19th Century brass bound coromandel sewing box by Farthing & Thornhill, 42, Cornhill, the lid opens to reveal purple velvet and silk lined interior, the inside of the lid has a drop down mirror and stationery compartment, whilst the base has a selection of seven mother of pearl cotton reel holders, tape measure, waxer, needle cleaner, five silk winders, a selection of tools, two silver thimbles and various lidded compartments, the tray lifts out to reveal a silk lined interior.
