An antique Jaques tournament size chess set with original labelled box from about 1930 and I believe this is the “Broadbent” Set, made of ebony and boxwood with felt bases this set is weighted. Both kings are stamped which, with the label and the style, helps tie the set to this specific period. We are also offering the original Gamages board with the store’s purchase label, the board is 16.25 inches square the squares are 1.75 inches.
This set was purchased from a private family who we understand have owned the set from new, this 3.5 inch king tournament set is in good condition, with very minor repairs to some of the pieces.
