An antique ‘Geographica’ 10 inch terrestrial globe showing Railways, Steamer route distances in Sea-miles, Heights in English feet, British Possessions Red, Pub’d by ‘Geographia’ (1923) Ltd., cartographers, 55 Fleet Street, London E.C.4.  Ebonised baluster column to turned circular base.
Geographia was started in the early 1900’s by Alex Goss, a Hungarian, and was eventually purchased by Rand McNally in the 80’s. Many countries shown on this globe have since changed their names, and their boundaries, which makes it interesting to study.
These make great presents for the office or study.
