A superb large mid 19th Century tortoiseshell desk stand with silver stringing and inlaid throughout with mother of pearl. The top with compartments for two ink bottles, a stamp box, a bronze handle of entwined serpents and two pen trays, over a single drawer with a mother or pearl handle.
