Many of his paintings were donated to the Metropolitan Museum by his widow after his death in 1897. Bunner, was a quality painter with a good following. His main skill, as depicted in this picture, was his ability to translate light throughout his paintings, be it natural daylight or evening via a lamp. A delightful picture which will be greatly enjoyed and admired.
