A mid 19th century Anglo-Indian ivory and sadeli-ware-games box, the four sides with carved wooden panels depicting birds, animals and foliage, the top with a chess, chequer, cribbage and solitaire board with five small carved wooden panels, the top opens to reveal a fitted backgammon board and removable lid, under which are two ivory dice shakers, together with a number of red and white counters, chess pieces and pegs (these items are not complete and I don’t think they were all made for this box as the pegs are slightly to big for the holes on the boards). There is a small loss of the sadeli work to one side which I may be able to get restored on request.Â
