A late 19th century Jaques club size chess board with faded rosewood and satinwood squares within a mahogany border, the front with a later applied inset, inscribed ‘INSURANCE CHESS CLUB’ on the back of the board is the makers sticker which says ‘JAQUES & SON MAKERS LONDON’.
