An ornate late 19th century Dutch silver plated wedding casket, embossed all over with romantic scenes and foliage, sitting on four applied dolphin feet, the front panel with a scene of two half naked women being rowed in a boat along a river whilst being played to by a man with a harp, another couple on the shore, the side panel with various figures in a countryside setting amongst statues, the back panel again with a number of half naked women in a countryside setting, with a swan, statues and a building in the background, the other side panel with naked women in a countryside setting, lastly the top panel has an elaborate scene of many people in a courtyard area with horses and dog together with a display of food and drink, the top opening to reveal a red silk lined interior.
At some stage the casket has been damaged on the front right hand corner (as you look at it) resulting in the dolphin foot being slightly squashed in.
