A coloured Staffordshire figure of Mr Wells in the role of John Gilpin. On a horse facing right, bare-headed. He has lost his wig which lies on the ground. He has also lost control of the reins and has his arms round the horses neck. he is wearing a riding jacket, breeches and knee boots.
