A well coloured Staffordshire figure of William Shakespeare. Standing bare-headed, in a cloak, doublet, breeches and stockings. His left forearm rests on two books lying on a pedestal. There is a paper in his left hand and his right points to it, but does not touch it. His left leg is crossed over the right.
